This is my favorite spot. Lately, if I'm craving something delicious and refreshing I know where to go. It is a really small place but very cozy. The owner and the servers are nice and pleasant. I've been here several times and I have always had a great service. The food is fresh and the flavors are amazing. My favorite of all times: The apple chicken salad. My hubby's fave: steak frites; he claims it is the best of the city!!! Make sure you leave some room for dessert. OMG!!!! Pastries, tarts, macaroons, cakes, eclairs....etc...Pick randomly; I can guarantee you instant happiness. The best part is that they're not too sweet like all the cakes and pastries of regular bakeries. I'll see you next time cafe Bonjour!

The food is always perfect. I don't mean good, I mean perfect. I go whenever I'm in the area and that's at least once a month. Order the steak frites, duck, salmon --- anything you will not be disappointed. The chef deserves praise because - every dish, every time. This place is why I eat out even though I love to cook at home. Get a glass of white wine and enjoy the rustic French chic of this restaurant.

Last minute dessert and coffee meeting! Service has improved..desserts are scrumptious. Nearby patrons were happy to offer suggestions of their favorites - actually made the experience better. Owner offered sample of the puff pastry - we purchased four to take home. Good coffee. Business complete!

The menu looks great, butttt the price is a bit steep. I am a native New Yorker and this is South Miami not Soho, I just tried the croissants and some danish looking almond pastry very good but pricey for I just ask for 4 croissants and 2 of them almond danish looking pastry pay $18 dollars. Too pricey the place

This place is my new spot! They truly put love into the food and you can taste it! Attention is friendly and warm, it's a pleasure to visit! I had a special of the day which was a hog snapper (one of my favorite fish) atop veggies cooked in wine, herbs and capers. So fresh and delicious! The real show stopper here is the steak and fries!! The steak is as soft as butter!! Mmmmm deelish! My 8 year old son begs to go here every weekend because he can eat the entire plate and you can't blame him lol. The escargot was really good and plenty is served. It's out of the shell too so The portion is good. The white chocolate and chocolate cakes are heavenly! Haven't had one bad thing here. It's amazing!

Visit Paris in a strip mall in Miami? It seemed impossible but it is fun to make the impossible possible... The critical test is a proper croissant. Flaky, buttery, with a crunch. Check! The cafe ole was strong and authentic. The desert-ready almond croissant was to die for! We got several to go. It's not easy to imagine you are on the Champs-Élysées when you view the parking lot outside. Still, enjoy it. we did!

Magnifique. How can a place have such good food in a small strip mall in South Miami? Well, yes, it's possible. Perhaps the food is pricey, but the quality is supremely high. The escargot is better than many fancier French restaurants, the quiches are light and tremendously flavorful, and the chocolate cake is ridiculous. Go there and have a great meal.

Je t'aime, Cafe Bonjour. You have the best Croque Monsieur this side of the Atlantic! You are a small yet bright beacon of all things French (hellloooo croissants, croque monsieurs, steak frites, etc!)... I would LOVE to see your dinner menu. I suspect I will be hitting you up for a date soon. Service was lacking, they brought us the wrong thing twice... But I suspect it's because they were shortstaffed. A seasoned Cafe Bonjour diner was with me and mentioned that they were missing a waiter when we went, so I'll have to give the service another shot next time. No matter, this place is worth it just for the deliciously authentic French goodies!

I go here at least once a week for breakfast. The owner Amen already knows me because I always come in for my coffee latte and croissant. There croissants are amazing. Both times that I've been there for lunch, they are packed. The steak frites (fries) is delicious. Everything is fresh and homemade (I know because I smell and see them cooking in the morning). The soups are delicious and very generous. I recommend you try the croissants as they are so tasty. Pretty close to a croissant in France, and that is very hard to find in Miami. I highly recommend anyone wanting some french cuisine without paying an arm and a leg to try Cafe Boujour.

Excellent food and service at Cafe Bonjour. My boyfriend introduced me to this restaurant for dinner. I had a great first impression when I first saw the delicious cakes and pastries on display. The owners politely welcomed us and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very sweet and prompt as well. My boyfriend and I both ordered the steak and fries, and it was absolutely scrumptious. It was cooked to perfection and the perfectly golden fries made it even better. We then topped off our meal with the creamy chocolate cake. I haven't had the other desserts there, but I can't wait to come back and try some more!

Truly love this place! They have the most delicious flower less chocolate cake you'll ever have! I love the ambiance and wait staff is pleasant. I felt as if I was in true France! This place is a must! Bon Apetit!

Don't know about lunch or dinner, but I wasn't impressed with breakfast at all. Not sure how you can get an omelette wrong but it seems like they didn't add any salt to the eggs so they were very bland. I don't like to add salt to my eggs and prefer them already seasoned, especially in an omelette. May give this restaurant another try for lunch or dinner to be fair.

Service was good but a little slow. It was probably because the place was very busy and have only 2 people serving the tables. We love the French onion and split pea soup. The Lamb shops were very tasty but served a little cold. The wine selection is limited which is surprising for a French Bistro. Overall a good dining experience.

This place is perfect in that it is a family operated restaurant. Small menu yet satisfies your pallet overall. I had a steak and fries. Great flavor and the escargot to start. I would put the escargot up against any in Miami. I just loved the overall atmosphere and food. The only negative is the shopping center is nothing to write home about although centrally located.

I have no idea why I keep giving this place another chance, besides the fact that I work right next door. I've come here and ordered the same thing every single time: an onion soup. The soup of the day is advertised as $7, and the soup of the day is ALWAYS either tomato or onion. The restaurant is owned by a man and a woman. The man is very nice, and always charges me accordingly ($7 for the soup). The woman? She charges me $9.75. This lady also leaves out the piece of baguette that comes complimentary, responding with a terrible attitude when I ask her for it. Now, I really hate confrontations but when I looked back at my receipt and saw that once again I was overcharged for a soup for the third time, I decided enough is enough! I marched myself back in there after finishing my meal and building up the courage. I waited in front of the counter and wasn't acknowledged for 5 or 6 minutes, which is how it usually is. Finally, the man asks if I'm dining it. I tell him I was just there and had a question about my bill. He passed me on to the woman. I pull out my receipt and point out the charge, politely asking her why I am always charged a different price for the soup. She tells me that the soup is $9.75. I reminded her that the soup of the day was $7 on their menu and that the man that works there always charges me $7. She tells me that the onion soup does not count as the soup of the day. I point out the chalkboard on her wall stating that the soup of the day is tomato and onion. She takes $2 in change out of the register and slams it on the counter in front of me, yelling "I don't have time to discuss this for 10 hours so take your money and go." It is an understatement to say I am absolutely furious. This is the same terrible woman that once gave me coworker a $1 discount because "i know they don't pay you well over there." This is the rudest human being I've had the displeasure of meeting and I will never give another penny to her establishment again. That is no way to treat another person. Absolutely appalled!

The flavor and quality of this place deserves a 5 star rating BUT the service barely gets a star. Everything on The menu is absolutely good, fresh and decently presented. The steak with frittes is one of their best plates, the onions soup is just as good. Today I tried the tuna sandwich and was excellent and the French baguette so fresh. The French fries are the best also. Then the desserts are scrumptious to the point that you have to order almost with the meal because they sold out while you are eating. While we ate, a lot Of people came to the display and ordered macaroons to go and many other desserts. Anything from the bakery will not disappoint you. The place is also pricey. BUT You better not be Very hungry and be extremely Patient to get a menú, to order drinks, Even Water! So make sure to order everything in one shot Or wait for The next time you aré Lucky To get The waiter's attention. I absolutely love their food and bakery but it always comes with a bittersweet flavor due to their awful service. I can't wait to find another great french bistro and bakery with great service so I do not have to endure the experience anymore. But until then I'll try to arm myself with a lot of patience and try to enjoy their great food.

My husband and I have been coming here for past 6 months on a regular basis, and never have had a bit of unsatisfactory service nor food. All is perfect here. Veronique and partner are very friendly and welcoming. Every time we go we try something new and it's always to perfection. Croque madam is a must have.

I stumbled upon this place about a week ago and decided to try it out today. Let me tell you, this is quite the spectacular restaurant! It's very small but quite cozy, and the owners are the friendliest people you could possibly meet. I ordered the steak (medium well) and fries, and as far as steaks go, this one was top notch! The fries or "frites" were very tasty as well. If I had more room in my stomach I would've also tried out the desserts since they did have many choices that caught my eye. Overall a wonderful experience, I will definitely be back for more!

Exquisite ! Have the chocolate cake and taste heaven! The mushroom quiche is the best I've ever had. Everything is made In house including the bread. The service is impeccable . A must try if you haven't yet visited yet. I can't believe we had not tried this place before .

I have been customers of theirs since they had their restaurant on 57th. Always fresh, delicious, and very homey. I highly recommend the steak, soups, and Cajun chicken sandwich. Their dressing is also to die for. My favorite desserts are the chocolate cake and bread pudding. Deeelish!!! Great place for lunch, dinner, or any time. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, as it is all divine. Bon Appetite!

The steak and frits is a must try, and their chocolate cake is simply amazing; it's as if a chocolate truffle and brownie got married and had a very light chocolate baby cookie in your mouth. Phenomenal!

Food is amazing, when it gets to your table... The dinner steak frite is amazing but the service is a little slow and rude. I went for lunch the other day and they wait was ridiculous because they gave me table order to another table that got there after us and ordered the same thing. No apology from the waitress who clearly knew what happened. Yes, lady, other people who don't look french SPEAK french. An acknowledgement of the situation would have been nice but like I said before the service is lacking.

I decided to try Cafe Bonjour because I had to eat lunch in South Miami, and I have had it up to here with the three other restaurants which serve edible food. If I have to face the dirty-foot smell of Carrabba's one more time, I may go nuts and take some hostages. The cafe is very small and narrow; I think they put too much space behind the counter, which is where they prepare food. When the waitress moves from table to table, she has to navigate a pretty narrow passage in order to keep from bumping into people's backs. I counted 14 seats, if memory serves. The cafe uses simple wooden tables for two. Most are in a single row along a side wall. One person faces the wall; the other faces the partition between the open-air cooking area. The cafe appears to be SURGICALLY clean. That's very nice. A restaurateur who displays filth out front is probably doing incredibly disgusting things behind the scenes. They have French cafe food (surprise, surprise). You can order a croque monsieur, onion soup, salade nicoise, various sandwiches on baguettes, and desserts such as eclairs and tarts. Their menu is on their website. I had a half-sandwich and onion soup. I ordered a turkey sandwich, but the owner's wife brought me chicken. Oh well. The bread was hot and yeasty. The "Cajun mayonnaise" on the meat was good, but it leaned more toward the blandness of French food than the heat of Cajun cuisine. The onion soup was very nice, but it seemed sweeter than it should have been, and it was a little low on salt. It came with two crusty pieces of bread floating in it. For all I know, this is how onion soup tastes in France, but in the US, it's usually less sweet, with more salt. They brought the sandwich out after I finished my soup. That's just crazy. It kills the whole point of the dish. It's "soup and sandwich," not "soup and THEN sandwich." I ordered pommes frites instead of salad, purely to see what a good French cook would do with French fries. I remembered having wonderful fries in France, cooked in flavorful olive oil. The ones they served me at Cafe Bonjour were somewhat more restrained. They were cut extremely thin, like shoestrings, and there was very little fat remaining on them. I wasn't able to detect any identifiable flavor in the oil, so maybe it was canola. The fries were executed very well, even if they didn't have the olive taste I missed. The food came quickly. Apart from the sandwich error and a wobbly table, there were no problems. I got an eclair to go, again out of curiosity. I was a little disturbed to find it had chocolate filling. I am used to getting vanilla-flavored pastry cream in eclairs; maybe that's not the French way. The filling seemed to lean more toward American chocolate pudding than a French concoction, but my knowledge of eclair filling is based on the vanilla type, so maybe it was perfect. I would not buy another eclair there. It was good, but it didn't do much for me. I missed the chocolate outside versus vanilla inside battle I'm used to, and the filling just didn't say "France." It's nice to eat in a place where they obviously care about standards. It's also very unusual. The food is good, the place is clean, there is plenty of parking, and it's a great place for lunch. If you need a better recommendation than that, I'll also point out that the people at the other tables were speaking French.

This place is all about the food. The service is quirky, yet pleasant and feels more like you're at a large family dinner than a restaurant. The Soup du Jour was Tomato, not one of my favs, so we opted to share the calamari and were not disappointed. A nest of expertly seasoned, crispy, lightly fried, battered rings of tender calamari arrived in a parchment lined bowl. Fresh herbs, lemon and a zesty aioli accompanied perfectly. For our entrees, the Steak Frites, of course, and the Duck confit. I had the duck, and while it is extremely hard to pass on the much-raved about Steak Frites, Duck Confit is very hard to come by in a non-$$$$ restaurant. Upon our entree's arrival my beau was presented with a mountain of glistening hand-cut fries, sliced filet topped with an almost-finished-melting dollop of herbed compound butter and a crisp simple salad. The duck, served with delightfully cooked and un-fussed over root vegetables, arrived with no liquid or sauce to speak of. I was concerned at first, but the thought quickly vanished from my mind upon first bite. Absolute food candy, duck heaven. Impossible to not eat every bite of either dish. Don't dare pass on dessert, take it home at the very least. You can't really go wrong, but the chocolate cake, a divine combination of mousse and meringue is so crazily rich and light at the same time. Definitely make reservations!

Perfect date night to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary at Cafe Bonjour inside of a strip mall nonetheless! This little hidden gem is just what we were looking for. We did call to make a 7:30 reservation since this is a small restaurant that fills up quickly, so I highly suggest calling ahead if you plan to go at your typical breakfast/lunch/dinner time. We started out with the Warm Goat Cheese Salad which was probably one of the best salads I have had. They split the salad for us and we still had a very large portion. It had warm goat cheese, tomatoes, walnuts, & warm bacon. The warm goat cheese was of course the best part and such a large serving of it was a nice touch. Next came the steak and frites (excellent) and one of their specials which I ordered, roasted red pepper raviolis stuffed with warm mushrooms and goat cheese covered in a creme sauce (heavenly!!). We shared our dishes like we often do and we agreed since we rarely eat french fries, these would be the ones we would want to splurge on. The steak was on the small side, but very tender and juicy. So of course the best part was the chocolate cake. It is like nothing either of us have ever had, super moist and rich chocolate cake with a crunchy outside texture. It is almost like a mousse cake. We will be back to try brunch soon!!

I absolutely LOVED this place! The food was excellent and so was the staff. I walked in this morning around 7:30 and even though they were not officially open until 9 am, the gentleman who I believe is the owner said he would do the breakfast for me anyway. I had scrambled eggs with spinach and cheese and they were absolutely delectable!! I'm definitely going back very soon!

I was only there to pick up some pastries so I can't speak for the food, but I can say BEST CROISSANTS EVER! I tried the plain and chocolate-filled; both are amazing! The owner was very nice and the place was clean.

Ooh La La! After slamming the my bedroom door this morning, refusing to make brunch because my idiotic father can't tell the difference between a good croissant and the nasty excuse for one they sell at DonPan (and now there is nothing to lay my eggs benedict over), I realized that not everyone knows what a "good croissant" actually tastes or looks like. We have been cheated by places like DonPan, Sam's Club, Publix and Versalles into thinking there is nothing beyond what they can offer, but even in Miami, many places still manage to surprise us. This quaintly decorated cafe is tended to by the owner and his daughter who are the sweetest people in a 15 mile radius, I'm sure of it. It is hidden next to the Utrech and the Sherwin Williams on US 1, on a street that I still am unsure about how it's after sunset (driving south) when sunset is 72nd and this is on 62nd? I get lost every time. Vogue magazines await your curious side and beg you to pick them up to channel your inner french-fashionista while you sit with your legs crossed and sip on some coffee watching the crowd walk by from their huge bay window. Granted, it's not the best view, and it's certainly not Paris, but steal a picture from the magazine and pretend you're there. The owner, to whom I will now refer to as "the croissant whisperer," of this little gem was kind enough to agree (after much convincing) to let me be his croissant-protege "one of these days," and we all know I'll be taking him up on that offer very soon. As I bit into the scrumptious baked good I was instantly transported to another time and place, one where I am a fashion editor in Paris and this is my normal life, enjoying my daily piece of heavenly goodness. The little morsel was buttery but not greasy, flaky but not tough, soft but not raw, just simple perfection. Their breakfast specials are not too shabby either, everything is reasonably priced and specials change daily. Again, the only thing I find tedious is the eyesore of a half-empty display fridge. Anyone who follows my reviews knows I hate those, I should come up with a better alternative since nobody seems to catch the drift. I say we convince this man to teach us the art of croissant-making as an elite event (for a select few, of course) and we reap the benefits afterwards with a perfectly steamed of cappuccino nestled next to our fresh-baked croissants.

This is a charming little lunch spot with one of the best onion soup I have had in a while. I ordered the soup and sandwich (grilled veggies and goat cheese on baugette)which to my suprise also came with a small side salad. We also shared a small fruit tart with strawberries, blue berries and raspberries which was just delicious. I hear the chicken apple salad is a real winner and there is a sign in the resturant that reads "best steak frites in town". HMMMMM Im just going to have to go back to try that.

Cafe Bonjour is a pleasant surprise, hidden in a run of the mill strip mall. The cafe is bright, quaint and utterly authentic. You'll likely be greeted by the cheerful, plump French owner and the intoxicating scent of melted gourmet chocolate the pâtissier uses for their mouth watering, chocolate croissants. The owner's welcoming personality is reflected in the heart warming, no muss, no fuss, simply delicious food. From the incomparable rich and creamy carrot soup, light and sumptuous portobello mushroom quiche, and of course, the buttery, flaky chocolaty goodness that is a Cafe Bonjour croissant -- this hidden treasure does not disappoint. Pull over by the PetCo off US 1, and pop into somewhere that's both foreign - and happily familiar.

Paris, je t'aime. The closest you'll ever get to Paris without leaving Miami. This is the real deal guys, real French cuisine. I found this place by accident as I was driving back from shopping at dadeland. I actually was going to go eat at the Japanese restaurant next door but decided to try this little French restaurant instead. Yes it is small, seats about thirty at capacity but boy did I ever find a gem! The owners (a French couple) greet you and make you feel right at home. The husband (forgot his name darn it me and my awful memory) is usually coming up with new culinary ideas while the wife runs the place. Anyways, I came with my parents who are very picky about their food, specifically my dad (it's too salty, too spicy, too bland). We ordered lunch that time (still haven't gone back for dinner **le sigh**). I ordered a soup du jour which happened to be pumpkin and apple (what?!? Hold on! Let me tell my story!!) and a croque Monsieur. Let me start with the soup. Yes, it sounde strange but not did it taste amazing. It was creamy, yummy, not overly seasoned and a perfect blend of flavors. The sandwich was basically a ham and cheese sandwich with more melted cheese on top. Oh my gosh I gobbled the cheesy thin up in a few minutes. The cheese was authentic French cheese, Brie I believe. Usually I don't like Brie but this was a special kind I wouldn't e surprised if they imported it straight from France. Oh and did I forget the Bread pudding?? Best in town! Not overly sweet or overly saturated in sauce but a perfect ending to the meal. When you crave something that's a little ooh la la, this is definitely the place to go

Let me start off by saying I made a yelp account just so I could comment on how absolutely fantastic this place was. I went last night with my boyfriend only an hour before closing. And let me just say I don't understand how the two servers/(maybe owners) could ever have acted the way it describes in some of the comments below. With us, they were extremely polite and even charming. The menu for dinner was simple but the display of desserts!! My goodness, it could make anyone drool instantly. But when we ordered dinner...Divine is an understatement. I had their grilled chicken breast with veggies in a mustard sauce and my boyfriend ordered steak with veggies. Both meats were so tender. I barely needed a knife. They sat next to a beautiful array of green beans and mashed potatoes. It was the best chicken breast I ever had. Completely worth the comparatively inexpensive $16. We were so happy with our meal, we decided to take over $70 worth of desserts home for our families. We tried the eclair (most delicious one you will ever have), the berry tart, the pear tart, lemon merengue tart, and chocolate croissants. Every single one was delicious, filled with simple yet unique combinations of flavors. Long story short, I'm definitely going again. And the owner (I think) said to call in advance for some fresh napoleons, so it will definitely be within the week!

the best steak frites south of brickell. plus the deserts and pastries are awesome and there's a chocolate cake that is the best in the world. and there's a little bit of the bad french mood with the owners/servers that make it amazingly real.

I came here with a regular who spoke quite highly of this place. The place is clean and cute, service was excellent and staff was friendly. We started with the french toast - baguettes dipped in batter and fried topped with fresh bananas and strawberries. It was pretty good, tasted fresh. The batter was just the right amount of lightness. The syrup on the side was also very good. I ordered the ham & cheese quiche, which was thick but fluffy and tasted just like one would expect quiche to taste at a French establishment - perfect. The side of greens accompanying my quiche was boring, a garnish really. My friend ordered the steak frites and loved it. I stole a couple of frites and they were quite yummy. This same friend brought me an eclair once and it was pretty amazing. This time around I didn't have any sweetness, but I will definitely come back for lunch along with some coffee and definitely dessert. Their sandwiches sound amazing.

I recently moved away from Miami but i still dream about this quaint cafe! The croissants are delicious as well as the tarts but I come here usually for the exact same meal each time. The soup of the day and a half sandwich. Every soup I have had is delicious!!!! I really couldn't pick a favorite, for me it was unlike any other soup I've had in my life! The true gem of this place is the CHOCOLATE CAKE, it is always available and always on full display but not as popular as I would expect it to be. My entire family loves this cake we get it each time. It comes with this vanilla cream sauce that is to die for. The cake literally melts in your mouth, I sincerely can not think of a good enough description for this cake. It isn't even a cake its like I DONT KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE IT. JUST GO GET IT, do yourself the favor and treat yourself to this delicacy I promise you will not be disappoint. We find any excuse to eat this cake, I'm a vegan but this will forever and always be my one exception to my diet.

I was passing by this strip mall when the sign caught my eye. I didn't know what to expect but the bakery has a small but good selection of french pastries. I sampled the delicious choux, chocolate eclair, and chocolate croissant. All were excellent. The pastry cream had the perfect texture and tasted delicious, the pastries were fresh, and finally the croissant was flaky and filled with the perfect amount of chocolate. My only complaint? their outrageous prices. $12 for the three items. I thought that was a bit steep. They have sandwiches and quiche for lunch as well.

I really, really, really like this place. I come before school sometimes and finish up my reading. I have a croissant and a coffee. Everything else looks SO good, especially the breakfasts that I watch the waiters bring out. Very cute, and worth a visit. The owner is French and takes pride in her work.

Got there for the very first Sunday they were open. Charmingly little French place with good food in a surprising local. You can hit them up on your next Sherwin Williams run ( ; Couldn't resist the fresh croissants right out of the oven and the sinfully fried french toast- major calories, but loved it all!!!

Two of us (middle aged professional women) wanted to meet a friend for lunch and coffee. We put two of the little tables together and since the friend was late, we asked politely if we could order food for ourselves. The proprietor was very rude to us and told us that he never took orders if one of the parties had not yet arrived. He also complained that he needed the extra table we had taken. In fact, there were several empty tables in the cafe at that time. We were shocked by the lack of courtesy shown by the proprietor. I don't think I've ever experienced rudeness like that in more in an eating establishment in Miami since I moved here in 1987.

Great French restaurant. Quiche was delicious as well as the steak and fries. Croque madam was really tasty too. Chocolate cake was fantastic. Looking forward to coming back.

Great little simple eatery. The menu does not change but they have different daily homemade soups. Not too many menu options but it is not meant to. Great sandwiches and egg dishes. Great breakfast/lunch place.

I love the sandwiches... The owner is always there to help you..the bread is always so fresh... they have daily specials... This is the type of bakery that makes me drive from plantation to south miami for some good bread and other goodies

Loved this place. Went for Sunday brunch. Food was fresh and delicious. The owners were so sweet to my 3 yr old.. They brought him a pastry while we were waiting for our food without us even asking! Definitely will go back.
